IAF Wing Commander Abhinandan Varthaman Returns back to India

Indian Air Force (IAF) Wing Commander Abhinandan Varthaman returned home after three days of extreme political, diplomatic, and military confrontation between India and Pakistan. Pakistan rejected India’s request to allow IAF to fly him in special aircraft.He was handed over to the Indian authorities around 9.30 pm at the Attari-Wagah border from where he was flown to the Palam airport in Delhi. He was received by his parents and senior IAF officers.
He was initially expected to return between 2 to 4pm. He got delayed as he was kept in Lahore for several hours. He was taken to ISI facility in the city where Pakistan made a propaganda video. Finally he came back to India almost after 60 hours after he was captured.

The people of India gave a rousing welcome to their national hero as he set foot on the Indian soil. Prime Minister Narendra Modi Welcomed Home Wing Commander and said that the nation is proud of his exemplary courage. He will now undergo debriefing on Saturday. He will also undergo physiological and physical check-up in the presence of military and intelligence officials.
